For over 30 years, AST has been an integral part of the automotive supply chain network, from precision tools and dies for metal stamping, to injection molded products, to Tier 1 suppliers, AST provides support at every level.
AST leverages the "QMS" quality management system documentation standard. It provides a consistant method for managing quality and organizing documents to meet the requirements of IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015. The QMS system sets policies within departments and increases operational efficiency across the company. An IATF accreditation body conducts an annual audit to verify that the quality system is maintained and effective.
AST operates a precision mold processing and plastic molding processing plant with Advanced Plastics Manufacturing located in the Battle Creek industrial park.
Founded in May 1989, Advanced Special Tools delivers precision mold processing and plastics molding processing products to the North American market. We are establishing a base in North America, providing high-quality molds and injected molded components where automobile manufacturers, especially electric vehicle manufacturers, are concentrated. AST supports our customers in component development for the CASE (Connected, Automated driving, Sharing and Electrification) domain.
APM focuses on providing the highest quality medical molding products in the North American market.
AST is a precision mold manufacturer, about 50% of this is automobile-related parts. The global Automotive plastics market is valued at approximately USD 36.3 billion in 2021 and is expected to grow at a healthy rate of over 6.2% over the forecast period of 2022-2027. The development of EVs leads to an increase in electric-related parts, such as sensors, camera modules, and batteries, installed in cars. New business opportunities have arrived for injection molding processors due to industrialization, AST will become a key player in this market.
AST assists in the development of electric vehicle (EV) related parts in collaboration with Tier 1 (parts manufacturer that deals directly with automobile manufacturers). We handle everything from development to prototyping and mass production at the AST facility. We also jointly develop quality control and manufacturing process automation systems with equipment manufacturers.
